Feeling Blue in Paradise

Sun. Fun. Family. Pools. I'm on a great vacation with those who will always love me no matter what. Yet, I'm feeling down and just emotionally out of it. Depression always picks the worst time to pop it's little head out and say, "Hello! I know you weren't expecting me, but I'm here to make your day miserable.". And I hate to admit it, but this time depression is winning big time. I hate it!

On to a happier note, I am enjoying myself at this beautiful resort down here in sunny Florida. I have so many pictures to share with you guys. I'll just have to find time to upload them and post them on here. Also, if I seem really quiet on here lately, it's because the wi-fi signal here isn't the greatest so im having to do everything with my phone. But, I'll try to stay as vocal as possible. Have a great one guys!

Cosplay Outfit #1 - Gir

Hey everyone! I thought I would share the progress I've made while making my cosplay outfits for the anime con I'm going to in September. In case you don't know what 'cosplay' and 'anime con' means, I'll inform you now :)

Cosplay - Dressing up as your favorite character. Said character could be from an anime (Japanese cartoons), comic book, or a sci-fi based movie.
Anime Con - A incredibly fun weekend where lovers of anime, comic books, and sci-fi movies enjoy each other's company. Some of the activities there are meeting famous voice actors, video gaming, buying stuff, raving, concerts, and WAY too much to mention!!!

So here is my progress so far on my t-shirt for my Gir cosplay.
I bought the shirt from Goodwill for $1 which is an incredible deal! I made the zipper with some gray felt that I had on hand and painted the zipper design on with black paint. The zipper pull is already sewn on. Now all that's left is finishing the sewing and putting a small tail on the back of the shirt. I post a picture of the finished product once done :)

And My Hair Looks Like...

My hair has dried, the curler rods have been removed, and I took a nap! Haha! I was tired after working on my hair for 3 plus hours. Unfortunately, the curls did not keep on one side of my head. I guess that was the side that I was sleeping on :(

As promised, I did a little "modeling shoot" for you guys so you can see what the final result looks like. All in all, I like it. It's more versatile than my curls which means I can wear a ponytail! Yay for me! Let me know what you guys think :)

What Have I Been Up To?

Hey guys! It's been so long since I've been able to sit down and write anything. I have been super busy these past 2 weeks, let me tell you. My older sister's kids are up on summer vacation (ages 9, 7, and 5). My hubby and I have either had all 3 or just 2 for a whole week. Talk about a HUGE change in life! We went from zero kids to 3! But, it was so much fun hanging out with them and I wouldn't trade those times or memories for the world :)

The other thing I have been up to involves my hair. I changed it a little...

...ok, a lot!

I wanted a change to my hair since we're going on a little trip and I didn't want to be tied down with taking care of my curls. So, I put in some extensions and twisted my hair. Yes, I put in my own weave! Lol! Took me about 3 hours to finish it. In this picture I'm curling the ends so I'll have to post a picture later of how if looks without the curler rods in it. Hopefully it turns out right :)

I'm A DeviantArt Artist!

I finally did something yesterday that I've been putting off for a long time now. I'm now a DeviantArt artist! I decided to take the plunge and register for an account to further promote the items in my Etsy shop "A Girl and Her Clay". There are only 3 items posted on there right now, but already I have a follower and nice feedback. That makes me so happy :)

If you have a DeviantArt account, I would love for you to find and follow me. I would really appreciate it :) You can even let me know that you're stopping by from the blog. Once I figure things out, I will follow you as well. Lol!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope you guys enjoyed your long weekend and are not too bummed out about having to get back to the regular old day to day grind.

I love lolita fashion! Whether it's sweet, gothic, victorian, country, modern, or punk I love all styles of lolita fashion. It's so girly with all of the lace, flowers, bows, tulle, pearls, and colors that are incorporated in each style. I tried my hand of putting a gothic lolita outfit together completely on Etsy. If you like lolita fashion, know someone who does, or have always wanted to try it but didn't know how then this post is perfect for you! Below are just 7 lolita items that appeal to me. My New Favorite Accessory :)

Since it's Tuesday, my usual post is "5 Great Etsy Gifts for...". Well, while I was perusing Etsy to find the theme for today's feature, I stumbled upon my new favorite accessory! When I saw it, I thought  "Why didn't I think of that?". Wanna know what it is?
GUITAR PICK EARRINGS!!!

Purple and Green Guitar Pick Earrings

I've never seen these before and I think they look awesome! It blends the two loves that my husband and I have - guitars for my hubby and cool jewelry for me. There's tons of them on Etsy. Just type in 'guitar pick earrings'. Some sellers have even made necklaces, rings, and bracelets with guitar picks. The pair above are my favorite so far but the ones below are pretty cool too. I promise to have the "5 Great Etsy Gifts for..." feature back up next Tuesday. I'll try not to get distracted like I did today :)

Oh, you forgot about it you say? No worries! There's still time to enter :) It's super easy to enter and will take no time. I'll even leave the link here for ya' to make it easier. Aren't I sweet? :)

My Ankle
Thank you so much to everyone who left such sweet comments hoping that I get better soon. I think it's working! My ankle doesn't hurt as bad as it did before, but it does still hurt. I've noticed that when I wear sneakers, it dulls the pain and discomfort a lot. So I'm having to wear my sneakers around the house, with every outfit, and sometimes even to bed when I lay down for a nap. LOL! I'll keep you updated as I learn more.
